CF Patriots 10, Seminole 1 (Baseball)

Yoenny Gonzalez had a monster day at the plate
in CF's rout of Seminole on Wednesday.

Central Florida recorded a quality Mid-Florida Conference baseball win Wednesday with a 10-1 romp over host Seminole.

Yoenny Gonzalez led the offense with 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI. The sophomore star's onslaught included a double, a triple and a 2-run home run. Staff ace Darren Fischer picked up the complete-game win on the mound. Click here for the full box score.

The win gave the Patriots (27-17, 12-7 MFC) a more comfortable cushion over Seminole in the race for the conference's second and final FCSAA State Tournament slot. CF holds a three-game lead with five games to play.

The Patriots host Lake-Sumter on Friday at 3 p.m.; next week sees the end of the regular season.
