Central Florida won its fourth straight men's basketball game Wednesday night, wrapping up non-conference competition with an 83-65 rout of visiting SCF-Manatee.
Reliable sophomore guards Hunter Williams and Christian Martinez paced the Patriots over the Manatees, with Williams posting 14 points and 3 assists and Martinez adding 12 points and 3 assists. Freshman forward Jeremiah Eason contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The win continues CF's momentum as the defining stretch of the season approaches. Archrival Santa Fe visits Ocala on Saturday to kick off the Mid-Florida Conference season, a 12-game sprint to claim one of two FCSAA State Tournament berths allotted the conference. The Patriots are the defending MFC champions.
Saturday's CF-Santa Fe doubleheader tips at 5:30 p.m. with the Lady Patriots' conference opener, followed by the men's game at 7:30.
