Central Florida took a 75-50 women's basketball loss at Panhandle power Gulf Coast on Saturday.
TiChina Mitchell scored 15 points to lead CF, while Quinnecia Twine and Briana Gibson added 9 apiece.
The Lady Patriots enter 2012 with an even 8-8 record and a No. 7 ranking in the FCSAA poll. Their non-conference schedule, arguably the most arduous in the state, concludes this week with visits to Indian River on Tuesday and Miami-Dade on Wednesday. CF opens Mid-Florida Conference play on Saturday, hosting archrival Santa Fe at 5:30 p.m.
