A debuting Patriot star led Central Florida to an impressive 108-83 men's basketball win over Central Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Sophomore forward Luis Jacobo, making his first appearance in a CF uniform after transferring this fall from Division I Stetson, led the Patriots with 22 points and 9 assists. The effort led five double-figure scorers for the home team as Jeremiah Eason scored 19, Jordan Parks added 16, Jernell Hughes chipped in 11 and Eugene McCrory scored 10.
The Patriots enter 2012 with a 12-5 record and a No. 7 state ranking. They have one non-conference game remaining, hosting SCF-Manatee on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., before welcoming Mid-Florida Conference archrival Santa Fe to Ocala on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. to open the defense of their MFC championship.
