Central Florida's second-half rally fell short Tuesday as the Lady Patriots took a 67-46 home-court loss to Gulf Coast.
CF (4-2) saw its two-game win streak snapped as the perennial state contenders built a 37-14 lead into halftime. The Lady Patriots put together a substantial push in the second half, outscoring the Lady Commodores 32-30 after halftime while shooting 41 percent from the field.
Returning sophomore Simone High scored 13 points to pace the Lady Patriots. Freshman guard Taylor Broadnax added 10 points, while Nikarre Sesler produced an impressive stat line with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
CF visits Northwest Florida State for a Thanksgiving weekend tournament on Friday and Saturday.
