The CF Patriots men's basketball team recorded its first win of the 2011-12 season Friday, handling Kansas NJCAA program Fort Scott 68-55 in Hutchinson, Kan.
A pair of freshman reserves carried the offensive load for CF, which successfully rebounded from a 3-point season-opening loss the previous night. Forward Eugene McCrory led the Patriots with 19 points, while guard Roosevelt Scott added 11.
CF (1-1) concludes its three-day visit to Hutchinson on Saturday with a game against the host Blue Dragons. The Patriots' home opener is Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 pm against Pasco-Hernando.
