The win was the Patriots' fourth in a row and 10th in their last 13 games. CF (17-26-1, 7-8 Mid-Florida Conference) moved within a half-game of idle Daytona State for third place, and within two games in the loss column of current second-place team St. Johns River, which lost to Seminole on Monday. The teams with the best two conference records at the end of the 24-game MFC season advance to next month's state tournament.
The Patriots will have to continue their ascent up the MFC standings on the road. CF visits Santa Fe, St. Johns River and Seminole this week, then returns home Monday, April 11 to host Seminole.
