St. Johns River 3, CF Patriots 2 (Baseball)

Central Florida narrowly missed a home-and-home baseball sweep of first-place St. Johns River on Monday, losing a walk-off 3-2 decision at Palatka.

SJR earned its winning run on a bases-loaded single with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the bottom of the ninth. Bradley Goodson led CF's offensive effort with a single and 2 runs, and Josh Whitchurch and Scott Schaub each added a single and an RBI.
 
CF (12-25-1, 3-7 MFC) continues its conference slate against FSC-Jacksonville this weekend, hosting the Stars on Friday at 3 p.m. and visiting Jacksonville on Saturday.
