Central Florida squeezed a non-conference, out-of-state opponent into its Mid-Florida Conference-opening home-and-home series on Thursday, and took a 19-6 loss to Jackson CC of Michigan for its trouble.
A day after winning its MFC opener at Seminole, and a day before hosting that same Seminole squad to open its home MFC slate, CF (7-18-1) kept its finest arms and bats largely under wraps as the visitors pulled away. Christian Coburn had 2 hits and Danny Alimonti a solo home run to lead the Patriot resistance.
First pitch for Friday's CF-Seminole game is set for 3 p.m. at Goodlett Field.
