Central Florida took a break from the Mid-Florida Conference grind Tuesday with a 6-5 walk-off win over Morton.
Cole Miraglia played the hero for the Patriots with a game-winning RBI single with 1 out in the ninth inning. Casey Smit scored the decisive run, and also earned the win on the mound, picking up 2 outs in the ninth in relief of Charlie Neely's strong 6-inning, 5-hit, 1-run starting effort. Danny Alimonti's 3-run home run in the sixth put CF up 3-1, and Christian Coburn had a 2-run double in the eighth to put the home team in striking distance.
