Sophomore ace Jessica Knight threw a complete-game shutout Tuesday as Central Florida won at Pasco-Hernando 2-0. The Patriots lost the late game 7-1 to earn a split in their final non-conference doubleheader.
Knight allowed just 3 hits and struck out 7 to gain some momentum on the mound as CF's tough Mid-Florida Conference schedule approaches. She also starred at the plate with 2 doubles, a run and an RBI, while Miranda Anderson, Brittany Baker and Jandrew Collins chipped in 2 hits apiece.
CF (12-23) gets its MFC slate underway back on its home turf, hosting Daytona State on Thursday at 2 p.m. The conference-opening homestand continues Saturday at 1 p.m. against Lake-Sumter.
