Central Florida forced an extra inning for the second consecutive game on Sunday at Clermont before falling to Indian River 6-4 in 8 innings.
The Patriots (2-13) mounted a comeback after falling behind 4-1 entering the bottom of the seventh inning. Jessica Knight led off with a double and came around to score on a Belinda Rennes single. Fellow sophomore Jandrew Collins then tied the game with a 2-out, 2-run single to right field. Indian River plated a run in the top of the eighth for the victory.
Collins went 3-for-4 on the day with a triple and 3 RBI.
The Patriots host St. Petersburg on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
