Central Florida suffered a pair of narrow losses on its home field Tuesday, falling to Hillsborough by scores of 6-4 and 6-5.
CF plated all of its opening-game runs in the fourth inning behind Samantha Sibley's two-run double and RBI singles from Jandrew Collins and Kasie Cheney.
The Patriots strung together another two series of hits in the late game. Miranda Anderson drew a bases-loaded walk to score Cheney, then Brittany Baker brought Jessica Lopez home with a sacrifice fly to trim the Hawks lead to 5-2 through 5 innings. Jandrew Collins' 2-run double and Lopez's RBI single gave the Patriots two more runs in the sixth.
CF (8-18) hosts SCF-Sarasota on Thursday at 2 p.m.
