Central Florida enjoyed its first softball sweep of the season on Tuesday, handling visiting St. Petersburg by scores of 8-2 and 4-1.

Sophomore Jessica Knight starred in the opener, picking up the win on the mound with a 4-hit, 2-run, 7-strikeout complete-game effort and pacing the offense with 3 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored. Lake Weir graduates Brittany Baker and Miranda Anderson provided pop in the middle of the order with 2 hits a piece, and sophomore Samantha Sibley hit a 2-run home run in the Patriots' most explosive offensive performance of the season.

Developing pitcher Arika Fox earned her first win in the nightcap, scattering 5 hits and an earned run over 5.1 innings. Knight recorded the final 5 outs to earn the save, while Anderson hit a solo shot for her first collegiate home run.

With its 10-game losing skid now history, CF (4-13) looks to continue its first win streak of the season on Thursday as Pasco-Hernando visits for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
