Central Florida lost two of three softball games at Polk State on Saturday. The Patriots opened the day with an 11-2 win over Oakland before falling 2-0 to Polk and and 10-8 to South Florida.
Jessica Knight struck out 8 and gave up 3 hits over 5 innings to win the early game. Arika Fox went 4-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 3 stolen bases, while Miranda Anderson went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI.
Fox and Anderson also led the offense in the late loss to South Florida. Fox had a hit, 3 walks and an RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-4 and scored twice as the Patriots forced an extra inning. Knight went 4-for-5 in that game with 3 RBI.
CF (10-21) gets another shot at South Florida on Saturday as the Panthers visit Ocala for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
