The Central Florida women's basketball team handled non-NJCAA opponent Brevard Blaze on Saturday, deploying a balanced scoring attack in a comfortable 66-52 victory at Melbourne.
Moniqua Darby scored 16 points, Yasmeen Thompson had 13 and Quinnecia Twine added 11 for the Lady Patriots, who improve to 9-5 with the win. CF travels to Panama City next weekend for games against tough Panhandle opponents Chipola and Northwest Florida State.
Saturday's scheduled opponent, Northwest Oklahoma State, backed out of the Brevard Community College-hosted tournament, leaving CF to face the last-minute replacement.
