The Central Florida women gave homestanding College of Southern Idaho a scare on Saturday before absorbing their first loss of the season, a 75-66 setback to the nation's 12th-ranked team.
Freshmen forwards Moniqua Darby and Quinnecia Twine again led the way for the Lady Patriots. Darby recorded her third double-double is as many games in Idaho with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Twine led the Lady Patriots in scoring for the third time in a row and the fourth time in five games with 15 points.
The game concluded CF's season-opening five-game road swing. The Lady Patriots (4-1) take to their home court for the first time next weekend, hosting the six-team CF Shootout on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. CF will face Miami-Dade, Broward and Brevard over the course of the three-day event.
