Sophomore standout Kevin Foster performed the game-long heavy lifting and the last-second heroics on Thursday as the Central Florida men knocked off nationally-ranked Casper College 86-77 in overtime.
Foster, a transfer from George Mason bound for Fresno State next season, dropped in the game-tying shot with 1.7 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game at 71 and force the extra frame. The Patriots outscored their rivals 15-6 in overtime to secure the victory over the NJCAA's 30th-ranked team.
Foster posted an emphatic double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Mathiang Muo, another Division I transfer from Northeastern, added 15 points as the FCCAA No. 8 Patriots improved to 4-1.
CF takes on another nationally-recognized squad Saturday in host College of Southern Idaho. The Golden Eagles stand at No. 24 in the NJCAA top 30.
