CF had the makings of a big inning in the eighth, as Bradley Goodson scored on a Dru Jones single and Paul Karmeris stepped to the plate as the potential tying run. But Karmeris' deep fly ball to left field was smothered by the swirling wind, and it settled into a Seminole glove on the warning track. The Patriots again brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth before the Raiders secured the victory.
The Patriots (24-18, 9-10 Mid-Florida Conference) slid further down the MFC standings with the loss. With Seminole's win and Lake-Sumter 13-3 defeat of Daytona State, CF and Daytona are now tied for fifth behind Santa Fe, St. Johns River, Seminole and Lake-Sumter. The top two finishers qualify for the FCCAA State Tournament.
