Seminole 9, Central Florida 8 (BASE)

Central Florida took a heartbreaking loss and a ding to their postseason aspirations on Saturday, falling at Seminole State 9-8 after squandering a 4-run lead with 6 outs remaining.

CF entered the eighth up 8-4, much of it thanks to Kenneth Stalls' 5-for-5 performance highlighted by a 2-run home run. But the host Raiders rang up 5 runs over the final 2 frames to walk off with the upset victory.

The Patriots (24-14, 9-6 Mid-Florida Conferece) again were denied in their quest to achieve any level of comfort in the MFC standings. After moving into a first-place tie with a huge win Friday, CF is now back in a two-way tie with Lake-Sumter for the conference's second and last FCCAA State Tournament berth.

Nine games remain to be played for the Patriots to secure a postseason spot, starting with a Wednesday visit to St. Johns River.
