Central Florida Patriots sophomore and local high school product Jeff Neal will continue his career at the Division I level, signing with Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. A two-year contributor for the Patriots after a distinguished career at Ocala's Forest High School, Neal averaged 4.6 points and 3.8 rebounds and shot 53 percent from the field in 2009-10 while adding a rugged physical edge to CF's high-scoring frontcourt. The 6-7, 235-pound power forward/center placed third on the team in both blocked shots and offensive rebounds.
The Rattlers, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, struggled to a 9-22 overall mark and 5-11 conference showing. FAMU is coached by Eugene Harris, who will enter his fourth season with the program in 2010-11.
