Central Florida dropped its second straight game on Monday at Goodlett Field, falling to Pasco-Hernando 9-3. The game was a make-up of a rained-out game originally scheduled for Saturday.
CF falls to 13-8 with the loss, and now has just two non-conference games remaining ahead of its Mid-Florida Conference opener at Lake-Sumter on Saturday. As with basketball, the 24-game MFC slate is the heart of the spring baseball season: the teams with the two best conference records will claim the MFC's two berths in the FCCAA State Tournament, held in May at Tigertown in Lakeland.
The baseball version of the MFC includes seven teams: CF, Lake-Sumter, St. Johns River, FSC-Jacksonville, Seminole State, Santa Fe and Daytona State.
