The Patriots furthered their postseason cause with a quality conference win Saturday, beating FSC-Jacksonville 76-65 behind Ricardo Ratliffe’s 31-point, 9-rebound effort.
CF (22-5, 4-1 Mid-Florida Conference) built an early 14-point lead but led by just two at halftime before a second-half surge put the game on ice. The Patriots overcame a 3-for-16 collective 3-point shooting effort and a 35 percent first-half field goal percentage to notch the victory.
Travis Johnson made 11 of 13 free-throw attempts and scored 19 for CF, while reserve Slobodan Miljanic turned in a welcome strong effort, stroking a trio of 3-pointers and scoring all of his 11 points in the second half.
The Patriots welcome St. Johns River on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in their final home game of the season. They visit Santa Fe on Feb. 13, then travel Daytona State on Feb. 17 in what promises to be a very meaningful season finale.
