CF fell behind 25-10 early, trailed by 11 at halftime and never got closer than five down the stretch. Tyeshia Battles carried the weight offensively in the absence of injured star Markeshia Grant, scoring 24 points and playing straight through before fouling out in the final minute. Jamesha Willis joined her in double figures with 10 points.
The seventh-ranked Patriots fall to 16-8 and 2-2 in MFC play, while the sixth-ranked Saints (16-7, 5-0) stayed undefeated in conference play and built what might be an insurmountable lead as the conference schedule approaches the halfway point.
