Golden Flashes head coach Scott Stricklin had a lot of nice things to say about the versatile Jones, one of five early signees to his program this week.
"We are thrilled to have an experienced hitter like Dru join our program,” said Stricklin. “He has excelled in one of the most challenging junior college conferences in the country. He can play a lot of different positions but most importantly, he can really hit. He's a tough kid that plays the game hard and we expect him to make an immediate impact on our team."Jones was a football star in Wadsworth, Ohio, before signing on with CF. He hit .300 as a freshman with 12 doubles, 7 home runs and a team-high 56 RBI.
