Markeshia Grant played like the sophomore star she'll need to be for the Lady Patriots on Friday night, totalling 34 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals as Central Florida notched an 83-70 win over Tampa-based travel team X-Factor on opening night of the CFCC Classic.
Tyeshia Battles added 22 points and 3 blocks for the Lady Patriots, now 4-0 on the season. Jameshia Willis added 11 points and 3 steals.
CFCC faces St. Petersburg on Saturday at 6 p.m. to wrap up the Classic. St. Pete took an 81-60 loss to Santa Fe College in Friday's early game. Santa Fe plays X-Factor at 4 p.m. Saturday.
